Field Of Interest Funds

Field of interest funds connect donors with their passions and specific areas of interest in their community. Education, the arts, the environment and emergency needs are a few of the areas donors can support through these funds. The Fort Dodge Community Foundation will award grants to community organizations and programs that are making a difference in the areas donors select.

Funding Areas

Our funding areas include:

  • Social/Human Services
  • Economic Vitality
  • Health & Well-Being
  • Public Safety
  • Youth Development
  • Arts, Cultural and Historical Advancement
  • Environment and Beautification
  • Education and Lifelong Learning
  • Emergency Needs

The donor may define further the types of programs under these areas. Local nonprofit organizations may apply for a grant under a field of interest through the Foundation’s competitive grant making program. After review and assessment of proposals, the Board of Directors approves grants from these funds.

While the donor determines the direction of his or her field of interest fund, maintenance is left to the Community Foundation. Our professional staff continually monitor changing community needs to ensure grants make the most impact in the donor’s field of interest and create a personal legacy of giving for the donor.

The donor may add to their field of interest fund at any time and so can others who share similar interests in the community.
