Our Meals on Wheels deliveries are available to homebound adults 65 and older as well as other adults who are unable to regularly prepare nutritious meals for themselves. Meals are available both on a long-term basis and temporary basis for individuals recovering from surgery or illness.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To be eligible, you need to be:
65 years of age or older.
Homebound.
Having difficulty performing daily tasks, like preparing meals, grocery shopping and other daily household tasks.
Void of a family support system.
Living in the Fort Dodge city limits.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Meals are $6.00 each. Meals on Wheels provides excellent value for what you receive-a freshly prepared meal delivered right to your door. WHAT ARE MEALS LIKE?
All meals are prepared fresh daily and made by our local Hy-Vee. Each meal features an entrée, vegetable and potatoes, rice, noodles, or something similar. Meals On Wheels Fort Dodge cannot accommodate special dietary restrictions. Menus are not available for preview.
WHEN ARE MEALS DELIVERED?
Meals are delivered by local volunteers Monday through Friday between 10:45a.m. and 12:00p.m. Clients can choose to receive meals daily or on a schedule of their choice. When Fort Dodge schools are closed due to snow or ice, meals are not delivered. Please listen to local radio & TV for closings.
HOW DO CURRENT CLIENTS CANCEL OR CHANGE DELIVERY OF MEALS?
