Wondering what to expect when you become a delivery volunteer?
VOLUNTEER AS A DELIVERY DRIVER
- Meals are delivered Monday through Friday.
- Meals are picked up at Hy-Vee no later than 10:45 am.
- Routes are preassigned and have between 8 and 10 stops
- Route bags contain delivery sheets with client delivery information.
- When the route is complete you return the delivery bag and the route sheet in the bag to Hy-Vee.
- Delivery takes approximately 1 hour.
HOW OFTEN WILL I DELIVER MEALS
- Volunteers deliver meals one week Monday through Friday.
- Your turn comes up once every 10 weeks on the calendar.
- Volunteers receive an annual delivery calendar. Dates are assigned annually.
BE A SUBSITUTE VOLUNTEER FILLING IN WHEN NEEDED
- Substitute volunteers are often needed, especially in the summer months.
- Willing to be on call to fill in when a regular route driver cannot deliver.
