Webster County Veteran Affairs offers assistance for a wide range of benefits to our veterans, service members and their families. This includes Federal and State benefits as well as temporary county benefits to qualifying indigent veterans and their families. County benefits include rent, utilities, transportation for medical care, medications and burial expenses.

Directed by a board of committed volunteers, Crime Stoppers’ number one priority is to provide a safer community for all citizens and visitors of Fort Dodge, which positively impacts the quality of life.

Webster County Emergency Management is a coordinated effort, involving local, state, and federal government agencies as well as volunteer organizations and businesses. These various entities assist citizens and their communities to prepare for, respond to, recover from, and eliminate or reduce the effects of natural, civil, and technological emergencies and disasters. The primary goal is to prevent injuries. save lives, and reduce property damage in the community.

Family Planning Clinic offers quality, confidential health care, including various methods of birth control, STD testing, pregnancy testing, emergency contraceptives, pap test and pelvic exam, reproductive life planning, condoms and referrals. Medical services are provided by a nurse practitioner or doctor trained in family planning health care. Costs for service at WCHD family planning clinics are based on ability to pay, and are often less than at other health centers. There is no income limit for those choosing to access family planning services. Insurance is accepted.

Provides public health programs, home health services, nursing care, health counseling and immunizations and vaccinations. Additional services also include screenings, CPR/First Aid classes, nutrition programs, environmental health services, senior health, adolescent mental health, communicable diseases, maternal health, child health, developmental screenings, Breast & Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program and a child care nurse consultant program. Other programs managed by the Webster County Health Department include: Family Foundations, Healthy and Well Kids in Iowa (Hawk-i), I-Smile Dental Health, Prescriptions for Kids, Teen Information Pregnancy Prevention Program (TIPP), Tobacco/Smoking Cessation Program, Webster County Family Planning Clinic and the Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Program.

Call the Health Department with questions Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM. An on-call nurse is also available 24/7 for questions/concerns.

The Webster County Sheriff's Department serves Webster County in all areas of law enforcement and is staffed by Sheriff James V. Stubbs, 16 sworn Deputies (I.L.E.A. Certified Peace Officers), four civil clerks, two civil process servers and a reserve unit.

Westridge Townhomes is a 125-unit complex offering both full market units and project-based Section 8 assistance to households that qualify. Westridge Townhomes is professionally managed by Action Realty, Inc.

The Wheels for Work program is designed to remove transportation barriers that often prevent families from being independent and able to fulfill their everyday needs. The United Way of Greater Fort Dodge, in partnership with Fort Dodge Ford Toyota, accepts donated vehicles and gives them to young families who are desperately in need of a car. Fort Dodge Ford Toyota assesses each donated car and services the vehicle to make sure that it is in safe, reliable running condition before it is given to a qualified family.
