A team of Career Navigators is dedicated to helping students discover their own unique career pathway and connect¬ing students with the resources they need to achieve their career goals. Understanding that every person has a unique set of skills, experience, values, challenges, and goals, we help develop a career pathway that is customized for each student, which will include a combination of career exploration activities and career education training.

Career Navigators assist students with the following services: career and education guidance, training program placement, one-to-one advising, tuition assistance, transportation assistance, childcare assistance, soft skills development, job placement assistance, and much more.

Mrs. Catherine Deardorf established the Catherine Vincent Deardorf Charitable Foundation, a private 501(c)3 foundation, in February of 1993. Since its inception, the foundation has granted over $6.7 million to Webster County entities. The fine arts, education, libraries, and parks have been the key recipients of funds with non-recurring and broadly inclusive programs preferred. Catholic Charities provides professional mental health services for individuals, couples and families and serves people of all ages, faiths and backgrounds. Therapists are independently licensed. No one needing mental health assistance is ever turned away for the inability to pay. Catholic Charities offers care for anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, marital concerns, pornography addiction, and behavioral issues. Crisis debriefing is available for 1st responders and free mental health assessments are available for school-age children.

Webster County is part of the Central Iowa Community Services (CICS) mental health region. CICS seeks to provide individualized supports that assure choice, empowerment, and community integration for persons with mental illness, intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. CICS serves to provide individuals with access to a regionwide system of services and supports by taking applications, making eligibility decisions, evaluating need, and working to create and implement a mental health and/or disability service (MHDS) plan.

Central Iowa RSVP (Retired & Senior Volulnteer Program) North provides adult volunteers aged 55+ from Hamilton and Webster Counties quality opportunities to share their skills, interests, and life experiences in response to a wide variety of community needs. RSVP provides an effective volunteer management infrastructure for screening, recruiting and placing volunteers in assignments that will enhance the services of public, nonprofit and health care agencies while also enriching the lives of the volunteers.

If you suspect a child under the age of 18 is being abused or neglected, call the Abuse Hotline, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please be ready to provide identifying information and the whereabouts of the child. You may remain anonymous.

Child Health Specialty Clinics (CHSC) serves Iowa children and youth (from birth through 21 years of age) who have or are at risk of having a special health care need. These can include chronic conditions like asthma or diabetes, behavioral or developmental disorders like attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or autism and more complex medical needs like spina bifida.

CHSC provides

• Family to Family Support-individual problem solving and emotional support as you care for your child.
• Care Coordination-help access the care your child needs.
• Clinical Services-gap filling clinical services and access to pediatric specialty providers.
• Systems Building-build partnerships and expand community based services and supports for families.

Citizen's Central offers active adults over the age of 55 a wide range of activities and entertainment, including social activities, games, parties, billiards, adult education classes, exercise equipment, health, and wellness activities (including yoga), and computer lab with Internet capabilities.

Lunch is provided five days a week through a Congregate Meal Program for a suggested donation for those 55+. Diners under age 55 are welcome--call for the cost of lunch if you are under 55 years of age. A Salad Bar is available to diners with a lunch reservation. Advance reservations are necessary.
