Community and Family Resources (CFR)

Community and Family Resources (CFR) is dedicated to proactively assisting individuals, families and communities achieve healthy behavior and lifestyle through advocacy, treatment and prevention of substance abuse, problem gambling and mental illness. CFR's addiction treatment services are provided to adolescents and adults on an outpatient basis as well as in a residential/inpatient setting. CFR offers the following programs:  Adult Crisis Stabilization Unit (ACSU), Recovery House, Prevention and Education, Detoxification, Residential Substance Use Treatment, Outpatient Substance Use Treatment, Problem Gambling Services,  and Mental Health Services.  Additional services include detoxification, transitional living/halfway housing and substance abuse/problem gambling prevention services. CFR has been a free standing comprehensive substance abuse provider dedicated to serving families since 1968. CFR has headquarters in Fort Dodge and also serves Boone, Calhoun, Hamilton, Humboldt, Pocahontas, Story, Webster and Wright counties.  CFR is licensed by the State of Iowa to provide Substance Abuse Services and accredited as a Mental Health Service Provider by the Iowa Department of Human Services.

Gateway to Discovery

Gateway to Discovery is a nonprofit organization that has established a two-year residential faith-based recovery program to support women in their rise from the depths of chemical addiction, homelessness and related struggles. It offers a long-term sanctuary as a haven from the social, psychological and economic factors that drive women to desperate means for survival--along with an array of support services and educational opportunities, at no cost to them. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration National Helpline

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) National Helpline (also known as the Treatment Referral Routing Service) is a confidential, free, 24-hour-a-day, 365-day-a-year, information service, in English and Spanish, for individuals and family members facing mental health and/or substance use disorders. This service provides referrals to local treatment facilities, support groups, and community-based organizations. Callers can also order free publications and other information.

Webster County Health Department

Provides public health programs, home health services, nursing care, health counseling and immunizations and vaccinations. Additional services also include screenings, CPR/First Aid classes, nutrition programs, environmental health services, senior health, adolescent mental health, communicable diseases, maternal health, child health, developmental screenings, Breast & Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program and a child care nurse consultant program. Other programs managed by the Webster County Health Department include: Family Foundations, Healthy and Well Kids in Iowa (Hawk-i), I-Smile Dental Health, Prescriptions for Kids, Teen Information Pregnancy Prevention Program (TIPP), Tobacco/Smoking Cessation Program, Webster County Family Planning Clinic and the Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Program.

YWCA Center for Life Empowerment

The YWCA Center for Life Empowerment operates a residential treatment facility for women with alcohol and substance abuse issues and also offers a homeless shelter and transitional housing services for women and children. Clients may have their children with them in the facility. Support services are also provided for those living in the facility, including parenting programs for young mothers and children’s programs. Intensive outpatient and extended outpatient substance abuse programs for women and men are also offered.
