BRIDGES is a PreK-12 school-based youth service program for students who have significant absences or have multiple office/health referrals. Students serviced by BRIDGES experience serious emotional distress and struggle to make and maintain connections with the school. Academic achievement and social skills are negatively impacted. BRIDGES staff work with students/families to increase the connection students have with the school by providing the support necessary so students can attend school and remain in class, increasing instructional time.
BRIDGES is available to all students in the FDCSD. Parents are encouraged to become involved. The BRIDGES staff coordinates with parents, students, and the appropriate service provider to get the help needed where and when the student needs it - at school.

Hawk-i is low cost/no cost health insurance for children. They offer two plans - a medical and dental plan and also a dental only plan. The cost per month is based on the family size and income. There are many services that Hawk-i covers such as doctor visits, hospital care, prescriptions, well-child check-ups, vaccines/shots, emergencies, surgery, dental care, vision exams, hearing services, mental health & substance abuse care, chiropractic care and speech therapy. Youth Shelter Care of North Central Iowa, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation that provides emergency and temporary shelter care to children ages 0-18 and Child Welfare Alternative Services. YSC provides Crisis Stabilization Residential Services to youth. The CSRS Program provides short-term interventions and support for families and youth who are experiencing urgent mental health, behavioral health, substance use, or medication management crisis. YSC also provides mental health therapy to individuals and families, in-home Behavioral Health Intervention Services, and Children’s Mental Health In-Home Therapy Services to the youth and families and also facilitates a local chapter of Achieving Maximum Potential (AMP).
