1st Five is a public-private partnership bridging primary care and public health services in Iowa. The 1st Five model supports health providers in the earlier detection of social-emotional and developmental delays and family risk-related factors in children birth to 5 and coordinates referrals, interventions and follow-up.

Athletics for Education and Success (AFES) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that strives to help the youth and families of Fort Dodge and Webster County by providing hope and motivation for them. We aim to do this by any means necessary, giving the youth and parents the power to decide what they need, want and what may help them be successful. We offer our youth after-school programs, sports teams, mentoring groups, drum line groups, educational and cultural opportunities and much more. In addition to providing exceptional programming, we provide our youth with a sense of belonging and the determination to succeed.

BRIDGES is a PreK-12 school-based youth service program for students who have significant absences or have multiple office/health referrals. Students serviced by BRIDGES experience serious emotional distress and struggle to make and maintain connections with the school. Academic achievement and social skills are negatively impacted. BRIDGES staff work with students/families to increase the connection students have with the school by providing the support necessary so students can attend school and remain in class, increasing instructional time.

BRIDGES is available to all students in the FDCSD. Parents are encouraged to become involved. The BRIDGES staff coordinates with parents, students, and the appropriate service provider to get the help needed where and when the student needs it - at school.

Catholic Charities provides professional mental health services for individuals, couples and families and serves people of all ages, faiths and backgrounds. Therapists are independently licensed. No one needing mental health assistance is ever turned away for the inability to pay. Catholic Charities offers care for anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, marital concerns, pornography addiction, and behavioral issues. Crisis debriefing is available for 1st responders and free mental health assessments are available for school-age children.

Child Health Specialty Clinics (CHSC) serves Iowa children and youth (from birth through 21 years of age) who have or are at risk of having a special health care need. These can include chronic conditions like asthma or diabetes, behavioral or developmental disorders like attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or autism and more complex medical needs like spina bifida.

CHSC provides

• Family to Family Support-individual problem solving and emotional support as you care for your child.
• Care Coordination-help access the care your child needs.
• Clinical Services-gap filling clinical services and access to pediatric specialty providers.
• Systems Building-build partnerships and expand community based services and supports for families.

Pre-K through 12 public education. Student Services providers assist students to be healthy academically, socially, emotionally and assist students in their career planning. Student Services providers include Student Services Director, Counselors, Bridges Case Management, Mental Health Therapist on staff, At-Risk Counselors and Coordinators, Nurses, Alternative School Staff and Drop Out Prevention Coordinator.

Hawk-i is low cost/no cost health insurance for children. They offer two plans - a medical and dental plan and also a dental only plan. The cost per month is based on the family size and income. There are many services that Hawk-i covers such as doctor visits, hospital care, prescriptions, well-child check-ups, vaccines/shots, emergencies, surgery, dental care, vision exams, hearing services, mental health & substance abuse care, chiropractic care and speech therapy. This program is managed locally by the Webster County Health Department.

Drop-in center for persons diagnosed with mental illness with or without Title 19. Mental health counseling for persons with Title 19 ages 3-93. Independent, nonprofit, youth empowerment advocacy organization. Anti-bullying and suicide prevention advocates. Peer support for youth, self-esteem and confidence management for youth and support for families. Resources and referrals.

Alcohol and drug assessments and counseling for adults and youth, marriage counseling, grief counseling, weddings, funerals.

Lee & Associates provides psychiatric evaluations and mental health services.

Individual, couple, family and pregnancy counseling. Adoption services.

Mid-Iowa Family Therapy Clinic, Inc. provides services in support of several Iowa Department of Human Services programs. We also provide comprehensive, independent outpatient treatment and therapy services to children and adults. Behavioral Health Intervention Service are provided in the Ft. Dodge office. We have a licensed therapist on board and a psychiatrist that provides service through telehealth.

Operation Christmas is an organization that helps to provide Christmas gifts, clothing and food to needy families during the holiday season. It is seasonal and only operating during the month of December each year.

St. Paul is a member church of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. As such we have a rich heritage of teachings passed down to us through the years. These teachings are summed up in the collection of documents known as the Book of Concord. St. Paul Lutheran Church & School has been educating families in the Fort Dodge area for over 150 years. Our school currently serves families with children 3 years old through 8th grade!

General mental health therapy with children ages 3-18 as well as adults, families, and couples; special interest in trauma/victim-survivors, anxiety, women's issues, and stress.

Services provided include individual psychological assessment and therapy services for clients ages five and older. Assessment/consultation for Disability Determination Services and Vocational Rehabilitation Services.

United Way of Greater Fort Dodge is a 501(c)3 public charity dedicated to supporting and uplifting families and youth. United Way of Greater Fort Dodge supports numerous organizations and agencies that help families become self-sufficient and stable for the long-term.

Offers a variety of mental health, counseling and therapy services to individuals, families and couples, and for all age groups.

Provides public health programs, home health services, nursing care, health counseling and immunizations and vaccinations. Additional services also include screenings, CPR/First Aid classes, nutrition programs, environmental health services, senior health, adolescent mental health, communicable diseases, maternal health, child health, developmental screenings, Breast & Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program and a child care nurse consultant program. Other programs managed by the Webster County Health Department include: Family Foundations, Healthy and Well Kids in Iowa (Hawk-i), I-Smile Dental Health, Prescriptions for Kids, Teen Information Pregnancy Prevention Program (TIPP), Tobacco/Smoking Cessation Program, Webster County Family Planning Clinic and the Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Program.

Call the Health Department with questions Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM. An on-call nurse is also available 24/7 for questions/concerns.

Employment and training services to meet dislocated workers' needs; works with workers and firms facing substantial layoffs; and encourages labor, management and community partnerships with government to address worker dislocation.

Youth Shelter Care of North Central Iowa, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation that provides emergency and temporary shelter care to children ages 0-18 and Child Welfare Alternative Services. YSC provides Crisis Stabilization Residential Services to youth. The CSRS Program provides short-term interventions and support for families and youth who are experiencing urgent mental health, behavioral health, substance use, or medication management crisis. YSC also provides mental health therapy to individuals and families, in-home Behavioral Health Intervention Services, and Children’s Mental Health In-Home Therapy Services to the youth and families and also facilitates a local chapter of Achieving Maximum Potential (AMP).
