Career Navigators – Iowa Central Community College

A team of Career Navigators is dedicated to helping students discover their own unique career pathway and connect¬ing students with the resources they need to achieve their career goals. Understanding that every person has a unique set of skills, experience, values, challenges, and goals, we help develop a career pathway that is customized for each student, which will include a combination of career exploration activities and career education training.


Career Navigators assist students with the following services: career and education guidance, training program placement, one-to-one advising, tuition assistance, transportation assistance, childcare assistance, soft skills development, job placement assistance, and much more.

Experience Works, Inc.

The Experience Works Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) provides paid community service assignments at local public and non-profit organizations, training, referral to needed services and job search assistance. With updated skills, participants use their community service training as a springboard to permanent jobs with local employers.

Career Planners are here to help you find a career path that best fits your needs and interests. This program is federally funded by the Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act. If an individual is eligible, we can help provide a variety of supportive services to help eliminate obstacles an individual may have when finding employment or upgrading their job skills.

WIOA - Youth
Youth: Assists youth ages 14-24 in achieving educational goals and work skills through paid work experience.
Up to 100% of the poverty level or high school drop out.

WIOA - Adult
Increases the employment retention, earnings, and occupational skills of participants through education, OJT & apprenticeships.
Up to 100% of the poverty level.

WIOA - Dislocated Worker
Employment and training services to meet dislocated workers' needs; works with workers and firms facing substantial layoffs; and encourages labor, management and community partnerships with government to address worker dislocation.
No income requirements.
