Central Iowa RSVP (Retired & Senior Volulnteer Program) North provides adult volunteers aged 55+ from Hamilton and Webster Counties quality opportunities to share their skills, interests, and life experiences in response to a wide variety of community needs. RSVP provides an effective volunteer management infrastructure for screening, recruiting and placing volunteers in assignments that will enhance the services of public, nonprofit and health care agencies while also enriching the lives of the volunteers.

Citizen’s Central (Senior Citizen Center)

Citizen's Central offers active adults over the age of 55 a wide range of activities and entertainment, including social activities, games, parties, billiards, adult education classes, exercise equipment, health, and wellness activities (including yoga), and computer lab with Internet capabilities.

Lunch is provided five days a week through a Congregate Meal Program for a suggested donation for those 55+. Diners under age 55 are welcome--call for the cost of lunch if you are under 55 years of age. A Salad Bar is available to diners with a lunch reservation. Advance reservations are necessary.

The Experience Works Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) provides paid community service assignments at local public and non-profit organizations, training, referral to needed services and job search assistance. Foster Grandparent Program

Foster Grandparents are men and women age 55 and older who serve as educational mentors for children age 3-10 in local schools, Head Start and other nonprofit locations. Those who meet income guidelines of less than $22,000 annually may qualify for a stipend of up to $3,000 per year. Training provided, free meals while working, assistance with travel costs to and from school each day. Paid vacations and holidays.

Webster County Health Department

Provides public health programs, home health services, nursing care, health counseling and immunizations and vaccinations. Additional services also include screenings, CPR/First Aid classes, nutrition programs, environmental health services, senior health, adolescent mental health, communicable diseases, maternal health, child health, developmental screenings, Breast & Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program and a child care nurse consultant program. Other programs managed by the Webster County Health Department include: Family Foundations, Healthy and Well Kids in Iowa (Hawk-i), I-Smile Dental Health, Prescriptions for Kids, Teen Information Pregnancy Prevention Program (TIPP), Tobacco/Smoking Cessation Program, Webster County Family Planning Clinic and the Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Program.
